Was thomas jones right in calling out brett favre in the media yesterday?
Is a Clemens pick any worse than a Favre pick? Plus it wasnt just Jones who made comments this week about Favre....another player called him "distant" and he didnt ociate with other players, instead he locked himself in a private room at the practice facility. That is not what a leader does and I completely agree that Clemens isnt the answer but if your so called team leader doesnt lead (this cant be a shock...remember when he said he didnt owe the Packers or Rodgers the time to teach Rodgers). That speaks of his cl, also remember that half the Packers team sided with Favre during his infamous retirement fiasco...the other half sided with Rodgers. Favre only came back to set NFL records and proved that he was willing to risk wins with questionable throws just to get yardage records if the pes worked. Had he managed even one of the last 6 games any better the Jets would now be in the playoffs....instead a "skilled" performer leads the league yet again in interceptions. Same as the playoff game last year...making a way late p down the middle is something you expect from the Clemens type QB...not one bound for the Hall of Fame. And to answer your question on Jones...of course Favre was a factor but lets be fair here concerning Pennington. Chad didnt have Alan Faneca and Damien Woody blocking for him, last year they might as well have put bullfighters on the line (Jets linemen moved out of the way like a bullfighter when a bull charged them). And Chad proved he could manage an offense this year with blocking in front of him. So lets give a lot of credit where it is due...this years offensive line is light years better than the one in front of Pennington last season, Favre doesnt block for Jones but Faneca and Woody do! The better record can be attributed to many other better players too who were brought in.
