Which alcohol is distilled from fermented sugar-cane?

Rum is a derivative of the sugar cane and in Brazil they make a beverage called Casahsha, I probably spelled it wrong, rum is fermented moles that is distilled, while the Brazilain drink is done similarly to beer and wine where the cane juice is fermented and then distilled into alcohol
